Why are maths so hard to revise?
Because more often than not, we work on one unit after the other, without bouncing back to the previous ones.
What is the consequence? In September and when taking the end-of-year exam, it’s panic time! "I know I saw that, but I can’t remember how to do it!"
How can you avoid this feeling? By revising all the key concepts on a regular basis, and mostly those you are not using at the moment, but which you know you will need again in the future.
One quick tip: if you are not sure about the answer to a question, click “I don’t know”. This will allow you to have a more accurate idea of your current level when looking at your final score, and to read an explanation.
WARNING: from September until May, do not take the quiz of the year you are currently in, as it will include questions about notions you will cover this year, and may not have covered yet at school. For instance: if you are in Grade 6 or Year 7, take the test of Grade 5 or Year 6, as you are expected to know all the knowledge it covers (of course, no worries if it’s not the case! It only means you need more revision and practice). You can use the test of your year at the end of the school year.
